campbell military friendly heritage

Campbell University traces its heritage of serving nontraditional military students back to 1945.

WWII ended in 1945.
Students returned from the war and flocked to stateside campuses to use their GI benefits.  Campbell University was a beneficiary of this wave.  Our own beloved third president, the late Dr. Norman A. Wiggins was one such student – having served as a Marine in the Pacific Theater, Dr. Wiggins returned from the war, entered Campbell and began an distinguished educational journey.  In 1945, Campbell began serving hundreds of military students and the tradition continues.

Celebrating 70 Years
In 2015, the University will celebrate 70 years of serving military students.  Not many Universities can celebrate such longevity of service to military and veteran students.

Dedicated Veterans Affairs Team
Campbell University and all of its extended campuses have a dedicated Veterans Affairs Team that helps military personnel obtain a degree in 5 easy steps. Each VA certifying official serves as a liason between veteran students and the Department of Veterans Affairs. We aid in helping military students meet their educational goals and objectives by utilizing veteran benefits, such as the GI Bill. Our distance education programs provide courses that are flexible to military professionals who are deployed or overseas.
